Many families came to South Russia from Hungary. They settled mainly in the Grossliebental District of Odessa. The main villages of Hungary that settlers came from were Torschau (aka Torzsa), Liebling, Klein Keer (aka Kis-Kir), Werbas or Neu Werbas, Sekitsch (aka Szeghegy), Bulkes, and Tscherwenka (aka Cservenka). My ancestor Georg OHLHAUSER came from the village of Perestur, Hungary to Freudental in 1806 and I have yet to find it on any Hungarian map. Any help on finding this village would be appreciated.

Perhaps we could create a "Researching a Village or Area in Hungary" forum?
or a "Researching Germans who Immigrated to Russia from Somewhere Other Than Germany" forum?
or a "Researching Germans who came to Russia from Hungary, Galicia, Volhynia and the Volga" forum?
or ??

Also this meta discussion about whether to create a forum is probably best discussed in the Group forum

After some discussion the Black Sea German Research group has created this new "Researching a Town or AREA OUTSIDE the BLACK SEA" Forum for discussions such as this. Good Luck Everyone!
