I'm curious if Black Sea Lutheran primary marriage records exist. This is the type of page that I see indexed on BSGR: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... at=1406858. It's actually an index itself that references a page in the personal buch and page in the hauptregister (main register). I've haven't found these other marriage entries that are referenced. Do these books not exist? Were they never microfilmed? Never digitized? I'd be interested if they exist since the primary marriage records usually contain much more information than what is found on these pages. Thanks very much.

The Lutheran marriage records for the Black Sea Region were at one time in St. Petersburg. Recently, individuals have not been able to find them in the archives and some have assumed that they were destroyed. While the marriage records were at the archives, LDS apparently digitized them and many of them can now be found at www.familysearch.org. The Black Sea research people have translated some of them and they can be found on the Black Sea German Research website. You can perform a Google search from the website looking for the village you might be interested in. Can you tell me what villages you're interested in?

My original message had an example page: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6D3W-91P?i=12&cc=1469151&cat=1406858 That appears to me to be an index, not the actual marriage records. #153 references a marriage between Johann Adam Hornbacher and Maria Anna Seyfried. It refers to p. 182 in the person book and p. 18, #15 in the "hinweisung auf das hauptregister" or "reference to the main register". This marriage register is in the "Metrical books, 1833-1885" for Rohrbach: https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1406858. I've never seen the "main register" that was referred to.
