Hum...I looked through Ulrich Mertens book titles Handbuch Russland-Deutsche and can not find a village by that name or one that is similar. Have you looked at the actual document to ensure that the translation that was done is accurate? Not many villages end in "off" except for Orloff. Is that a possibility?
