I am searching for descendants of my g-grandparents Michael Zickert b. 1832 and Katharina Elisabetha Issler (2nd wife) b. 1845, m. 1879 in Friedensfeld. My grandfather was George Martin Zickert b. 1887 in Friedensfeld. He immigrated to Tripp, South Dakota, USA in 1905 from Friedensfeld and later lost contact with family members. He also lived in Ashley, North Dakota and was an editor, manager, publisher of the McIntosh Republican and Der Deutsche Republikaner from at least 1909 through 1910 or early 1911. I believe Michael Zickert's 1st wife was Henriette Kappel and Katharina may have been married to Sebastian Gebhardt prior to Michael. I am researching Wildermuth because my grandfather may have been related to Paul Wildermuth family in Tripp, South Dakota. |
